Feb-08 I've done a major re-work of my article about selling digital pictures online. It was significantly extended and restructured, and even more content yet to come..
Feb-08 Completely replaced photo gallery (content, design and programming behind it). The new version is made with JAlbum, and is not using any server-side scripting, and runs without SQL database. I think it will be easier to manage the gallery for me that way.
Jan-08 The format of my website isn't suitable for on-going conversations and day to day notes, so I decided to start my blog about photography and life in Belgium. For the time being I don't plan to integrate it into my site, but my idea is that both should complement each other.

Oct-05 I decided that my website needs to be re-designed completely. The same time I started actively submitting
my photographs to photo stock agencies.
The new site structure and the page design are ready. However being busy editing my new and re-editing my
old pictures to meet the stock quality standards I do not have time to work on the new design :(

09-Mar-05 I've updated the SQL database used behind my photo gallery,
and updated the upload mechanism for adding new photos to the gallery - now it will
be easier for me, so new photos should appear in the gallery more often.
07-Mar-05 The site is moved completely to a new provider. So far I am very
happy with the speed and provided functionality.
Feb-2005 Moving the site to another hosting provider.
I am dissatisfied with the service name2host provides for the last few
months, and the price is too high (especially for such a low quality).
Jan-2005 Happy New Year! My sincere apologizes for so little
updates in 2004, and the only excuse I have is that doing house
contruction on my own takes too much efforts and time. Unfortunately it
isn't yet finished so I am not sure how much will I be able to spent
on my web site in 2005... The only promise - it is not forgotten and
I will update it, but can't promise to do it frequently.

15-Jan-2003 I have removed the books review section, and replaced it with
the family page. I plan to post
some family related stories and photographs - for our friends and relatives that are far from us.
There will probably be much more information posted in the Russian version
of the family page, and in any case the Russian and the English versions will be different.

20--27-Aug-2002 Moved a group of photos from the old version of the site to the gallery at miklav.com.
Rescanned a few of the old photos with better quality and replaced the photos in the gallery with the better ones.
18-Aug-2002 Added a couple of new photos. Partially updated the Links section.

24-Apr-2002 Updated the photogallery scripts - cleaned some bugs, improved interface. Added a couple
of new photos, and uploaded a portion of photographs from the old version of the site.
01-Apr-2002 I've completed the move of the site to the new hosting provider!
Finally no more annoying ads and completely redesigned photo gallery.
March-2002 I am moving this site to new (paid) host provider. It's not just the matter of moving the files,
because I need to make some adjustments in the scripts (postcard service and guestbook).
Fall-01 till March-02 I have
added a few photographs, but most of work was done behind the scene. It's yet to be completed. My main activity
was to completely rewrite the scripts that show photographs.
Instead of using slow CGI scripts I will use much faster and more flexible php scripts and SQL database.
This will allow me to add photographs much more easily, to include more photographs in the database without loss
performance of this web site.
Besides,I have made some JavaScript addons to my illustrated articles, so that the pictures will appear
nicer on screen when the visitor click on a thumbnail.
May--August-2001 I was extremely busy with my job, so I haven't had time to update
this website. Also I have went for holidays. Now I am back, and quite a few new photos are being processed now
- means they will be posted soon.
17-May-2001 I've completed quite a major update of the site:
Interface updated: new panoramic picture at the entrance, updated main menu appearance;
Guestbook added, menu changed correspondingly (guestbook item added, sequence of items changed to more logical one);
Updated About section, besides other things new photograph of MikLav added;
Added several new postcards;
Added several new photographs to the gallery;
Made some minor cleanup of HTML code.
21-Feb--31-Mar-2001 I was too busy with my job, so I haven't had time to update
this website. Also the weather was gloomy so I didn't photograph much... Now the spring
is coming so there will be new photos soon ! So far I've updated About section a little.

11-Jan-2000 New design again :) I am searching for a better form, and the previous
version didn't allow to add new menu items. Also I thought that using a perforated film in design was too boring.
6-Jan-2000 I've modified scripts to display technical information about each photo and I started to
add technical information to those photographs where I have it recorded.
1-Jan-2000 Happy New Year! A few new photographs added. Countrer shows about 900 people
visited my page during the last couple of months - not so bad, especially comparing it with my entirely personal page
in the past. It's still a personal photo exhibition but I hope this site will grow to something more than that.
16--31-Dec-1999 I started to add more material to this site - book reviews, and a little
personal touch in the 'About' section.
14--16-Dec-1999 Statistics running on the site shows about 50 users a day. They seem to be real users, not
automatic spiders/robots. Comparing to my previous experience with personal homepage (200 people a year),
this is a great result!
November-December 1999 Added a lot of new photographs, updated choice of categories,
improved navigation between photographs (e.g. you can use Next and Previous buttons when see enlarged photo).
09-Nov-1999 Reacting to the feedback from visitors I've changed the design of the site: I removed
the gloomy black background and made completely new front page putting more logic into it.
27-Oct-1999 The new address http://miklav.virtualave.net. The site has moved to http://www.virtualave.net
because prohosting appeared to be slow and unreliable. Also redirection was uncomfortable for visitors
and the service http://www.findhere.com was not very stable.
At Virtual Avenue the site has got it's own subdomain name without any redirection.
